Energy, Climate and Environmental Economist

Dr Mohsen Khezri

I study how energy transition, green innovation, environmental policy and natural-resource dependence shape sustainable development outcomes across advanced, emerging and resource-dependent economies.

Dr Mohsen Khezri official portrait

Applied research on energy, climate policy and sustainability transitions.

Dr Mohsen Khezri is an energy, climate and environmental economist. He is a Visiting Senior Fellow at the Department of Geography and Environment, London School of Economics and Political Science, an Associate at the LSE Middle East Centre, and a climaTRACES Fellow at the climaTRACES Lab, University of Cambridge.

His work examines energy transition, renewable energy, green technology innovation, environmental and resource economics, ecological footprints, circular economy, and resource-dependent economies. His research is especially concerned with the institutional and economic conditions under which low-carbon transitions can be accelerated in developing, emerging and oil-exporting economies.

Methodologically, he uses advanced applied econometrics and dynamic modelling, including spatial econometrics, panel threshold models, panel smooth transition regression, dynamic panel methods, DSGE modelling and system dynamics.
